NSW boy dies under grandfather's tractor

A grandfather has led police to his injured eight-year-old grandson, who became trapped under his tractor in NSW.

An eight-year-old boy has died after becoming trapped under his grandfather's tractor in a farming accident.

Police were called to a property in Swan Bay, north of Newcastle, on Sunday afternoon and met a man who led them to his injured grandson.

It is believed the grandfather was driving his tractor when his grandson became trapped underneath.

The boy died at the scene.
