Four police officers have entered not guilty pleas to assault charges laid over the death of Brazilian student Roberto Laudisio Curti.
Mr Curti died in the early hours of March 18, 2012, in Sydney's CBD following a chase and violent struggle, including Tasers, with police officers.
A coronial inquest into Mr Curti's death found the 20-year-old student, from Sao Paolo, had an adverse reaction to LSD before he stole biscuits from a convenience store, where police mistakenly believed he was armed.
The officers tasered him 14 times, used capsicum spray, handcuffs and a baton, and knelt on him.
Scott James Edmondson, 33, of Bulli, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.

Chin Aun Lim, 33, of Wollongong Police Station has been charged with common assault.
Daniel David Barling, 26, of the City Central Police Station, was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault with Damian John Ralph, 29, from NSW Police Headquarters in Parramatta charged with assault.
The matters have been adjourned until March 25.
