A woman has died and her four children have been injured after their car crashed into a fence post and rolled in the NSW Hunter Valley.

The 49-year-old woman was driving on the Golden Highway, west of Denman, on Friday evening when she lost control on a bend in the road.

The car hit a fence post, rolled and smashed into a telegraph pole.

Four children in the car, including twin 15-year-old girls, a five-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy were taken to hospital with minor injuries, but their mother died at the scene.

In a separate NSW crash, a man was killed and his passenger was critically injured when their ute rolled at Seven Hills in Sydney in the early hours of Saturday.

Police said the driver died at the scene, and the man in the front passenger seat was thrown from the vehicle.
