NSW drunk driver with kids pleads guilty

A disqualified driver has pleaded guilty after failing a breath test with unrestrained children in the car in Sydney.

A disqualified driver has pleaded guilty to multiple charges after he was found behind the wheel with a high-range blood alcohol reading and unrestrained children in the car.

Cory Shade, 41, pleaded guilty to all charges at Liverpool Local Court on Thursday.

Shade, who told the court he was on methadone and an alcoholic, will undergo a drug and alcohol assessment before being sentenced on August 20.

Officers found two children in the back seat without seatbelts on after Shade was pulled over on Wednesday afternoon at Hammondville in Sydney's southwest.

He returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.214.

Police have said a licence check showed he was disqualified from driving until April 2037.

Appearing via video-link, Shade did not apply for bail.
