NSW greyhounds board administrator chosen

A Greyhound Racing NSW administrator has been appointed to manage the industry's closure following the NSW government's bill to ban dog tracks around the state.

The NSW government has appointed an administrator to manage Greyhound Racing NSW just over a week after a bill to ban the industry was passed.

John Gibbons has been chosen to manage the peak industry board's transition as it prepares to shut down on July 1, 2017.

"This business plan will be released publicly and provide detailed guidance on measures to manage the business and regulatory functions of the industry's closure," Deputy Premier Troy Grant announced on Saturday.
