NSW man dies in motorcycle crash

NSW police are investigating a fatal crash near Lake Macquarie in which a man was killed after his motorcycle struck a four-wheel drive.

A man has died after his motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and struck a four-wheel drive in the NSW Hunter region.

The 47-year-old was riding his motorcycle along Freeman's Drive at Cooranbong on Tuesday evening, when he collided with a 4WD on the opposite side of the road, police say.

The man died at the scene, while the 51-year-old female driver was taken to hospital for mandatory drug and urine testing.
