NSW pizza driver robbed at gunpoint

Two robbers fired a warning shot into the air after they stole cash from a pizza delivery driver in the Lake Macquarie area.

A pizza delivery driver has been robbed at gunpoint in the NSW Lake Macquarie area.

A 19-year-old man drove to Northville Road at Barnsley just before 8.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday where he was confronted by two men armed with a firearm.

The men demanded money and stole his bag, which contained a small amount of cash, then fired a warning shot in the air as they ran off, police said.

No one was injured and police are investigating.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance and aged in his mid 20s, about 180cm tall and of medium build with a lip ring.

The second man is also of Caucasian appearance and aged in his early 20s and of slim build and about 175cm tall.

Both men were wearing dark hooded jumpers.
