NSW police officer charged with assault

A NSW police officer faces court next year on a charge of assaulting another officer at a golf club in the state's west.

A NSW police officer has been charged with assaulting another officer at a golf club at Bourke, in the state's west.

Police said on Tuesday the alleged incident happened in June, while the senior constable was off duty and after officers were called to the club.

Two other men were also charged.

The senior constable was issued with a court attendance notice last Friday, accused of assaulting police occasioning actual bodily harm, intimidation and offensive conduct.

He is due to appear at Bourke Local Court on February 6.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with common assault, affray, offensive conduct and being an excluded person re-entering licensed premises.

A second 21-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and reckless wounding.

They will appear at Bourke Local Court in January.
