A man accused of beheading his father during a family feud in Bankstown has pleaded not guilty to the alleged murder.
Khoder Zahab, 43, pleaded not guilty on Friday at the NSW Supreme Court to the murder of his father Mohammed Zahab, 69, on February 14 last year.
Police have previously alleged Zahab, then 42, attacked his father during a domestic dispute at the family home on Valentine's Day in 2013.
His judge-only trial will start on August 28 and is expected to last three days.
Both the crown prosecution and Zahab's defence team say testimony from psychiatrists about his mental state will be used as evidence in the trial.
Two female relatives cried in court as Zahab pleaded not guilty.
