NSW student caught with bow and arrow

Police were called to a high school in northern NSW after reports that a student had a bow and arrows on the school grounds.

A NSW high school student has run away with a bunch of arrows after being caught with the potential weapons on school grounds.

Police were called to a high school in Woolgoolga, near Coffs Harbour on the northern NSW coast, on Thursday morning after reports that a student had a bow and arrows on school grounds.

A male teacher confronted a 16-year-old male student in the playground about the allegations.

The youth allegedly grabbed the hidden bow and arrows.

The bow was successfully wrestled free by the teacher, but the student ran from the school, with the arrows, and hasn't been seen since.

Police are now looking for the 16-year-old and are appealing for information from the public.
