NT cannabis haul takes the cake

NT Police have raided an Alice Springs property where they allegedly found a large drug haul including chocolate cannabis cupcakes.

NT Police have charged a man over an illegal haul that allegedly included cannabis cupcakes and more than $10,000 in suspect dough.

A 63-year-old man will face court next month after a police raid at his home on Monday.

Two Tupperware containers of the baked chocolate treats, covered in coloured stars were allegedly found at an Alice Springs property, which police say included a number of safes containing more than $10,000 in cash and almost a kilogram of cannabis packaged in cryovac and clip-seal bags.

The man has been charged with possession of a commercial quality of a schedule two drug, possession of tainted property and supplying a dangerous drug.

He was released on bail to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on September 4.

Two other men present at the property were also issued with notices to appear for drug offences, and will appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on September 10.
