NT police seek cyclist hit-and-run driver

Police want to talk to a motorist about a hit and run incident in Darwin which landed a cyclist in hospital on New Year's Day.

Police are seeking public help to identify a motorist who mowed down a teenage cyclist in Darwin on New Year's Day.

The 19-year-old male cyclist has head injuries after being struck while riding on Tiger Brennan Drive in the Northern Territory capital about 4am on January 1.

The driver fled the scene.

The cyclist is in a serious but stable condition in Royal Darwin Hospital.

Police are seeking the driver of a black or dark coloured SUV as well as a black sedan.
