Nuclear commission comes to Adelaide

South Australia's royal commission into the nuclear fuel cycle is set to hold three public hearings in Adelaide.

South Australia's royal commission into the nuclear fuel cycle will hold the first of three public forums in Adelaide on Tuesday.

The commission has so far conducted public forums in various regional centres, including the traditional Aboriginal lands in the far north.

On Tuesday it will bring those discussions to Adelaide with a forum at the University of South Australia's Mawson Lakes campus.

Similar gatherings will be held at Flinders University on Wednesday and at the University of Adelaide on May 22.

Commissioner Kevin Scarce says it's important people come to the forums to offer their views.

"I'm learning much from these community meetings and I am going to continue to consult with stakeholders across the breadth of South Australia to ensure the final report is reflective of the views of the community and is founded on evidence-based conclusions," he said.

The royal commission is looking at all aspects of the nuclear fuel cycle from the mining of uranium ore to the development of nuclear power stations.
