Michelangelo's David attracts thousands of tourists to Florence every year, but a four-metre-tall replica outside a house in Melbourne is not attracting the same level of excitement.
The nude masterpiece in the front yard of a Caroline Springs house has been the subject of several complaints to the Melton City Council.
Some residents of Lawson Street have contacted the council.
While Melton City Council says it has received complaints, it cannot do anything because the homeowners do not require building or planning permits to display their taste in art.
One neighbour has described being able to see the statue from David's knees up from anywhere in her house.
"It's conflicting," she told News Corp Australia.
"I can see the beauty of the art but the statue, especially its size, is not appropriate for a residential area."
