The world's first mobile booth where men can have their balls checked for testicular cancer without having to face a doctor is being put to the test in New Zealand.

Called the Testimatic, the booth was unveiled at the opening of the Big Boys Toys expo in Auckland this week.

Testicular cancer is a common cancer among men but curable when caught early. It is estimated 828 new cases of testicular cancer ill be diagnosed in Australia this year, according to Cancer Australia.

Too often, men will put off having their testicles checked by a doctor because of the embarrassment of having to bare all.

That's where the Testimatic comes in, an initiave of Testicular Cancer New Zealand.

Men who step into the booth can drop their pants and a urologist hidden by a dividing wall will conduct a physical examination of the testicles by putting their hands through a little hole.

According to Testicular Cancer New Zealand, 90 per cent of cases are cured - if detected at an early stage, the rate is about 99 per cent.
