Wellington and Tauranga will host the second legs of the Oceania Olympic basketball qualifying series between New Zealand and Australia.
The men's Tall Blacks will face the Boomers in Wellington on August 18 while the Tall Ferns host the Opals in Tauranga a day earlier after all teams have squared off in a double-header at Melbourne on August 15.
The Oceania men's and women's champions will qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics while the losers face a pathway through a Games qualifying tournament next year.
Basketball New Zealand chief executive Iain Potter says both venues were selected with intention of making the atmosphere intimidating for the visiting teams.
"We have taken into account many variables, not the least of which is the ability to sell out a venue with passionate, basketball-mad Kiwis," he said.
Australia are men's and women's defending Oceania champions and will be firm favourites.
The men have a world ranking of 11th compared to the Tall Blacks' 21st, while their women's ranking of second is 20 places higher than New Zealand's.
The Boomers could include up to seven NBA players while it is unclear if New Zealand's lone NBA player, centre Steven Adams, will be available.
Potter said the Tall Ferns game was deliberately kept separate from the men in an attempt to enhance their profile.
"Providing a stand-alone game is one way of ensuring that they have the attention very much on them that night... as they go head to head with one of the premier women's sports teams on the planet."
