NZ win world croquet title

New Zealand have ended England's croquet supremacy with a 13-7 win to claim the world teams title, while Australia finished third.

New Zealand have been crowned croquet world champions after completing an emphatic 13-7 victory over England in the title decider in Mt Maunganui.

The result means they reclaimed the sport's biggest prize, the MacRobertson Shield, which they last won in 1986.

It continues New Zealand's dominance of the four-nation round-robin event.

They had earlier overwhelmed the United States 20-1 and cruised past Australia 15-4.

In the other final-round encounter, Australia beat the US 17-4 to finish third.
