Officer hurt after Vic police car rammed

An officer has been injured after a police vehicle was rammed by an allegedly stolen car in bayside Melbourne.

An officer has suffered a minor injury after a police car was rammed in Melbourne's south east.

Police discovered a stolen car at Black Rock with a man and woman sleeping inside about 2.30am on Thursday.

But as officers tried to arrest them the vehicle speed off, ramming a police car and leaving an officer with a minor arm injury.

The vehicle was dumped in a nearby suburb and the man and woman were arrested as they tried to flee on foot.
