Officers dispatched after terror arrests

Members of the Joint Counter Terrorism Team have been dispatched overseas to continue investigations following the arrest of two terror suspects in Sydney.

Counter-terrorism officers have been dispatched overseas to continue investigations after two people were arrested in Sydney.

Police and a prayer hall were among the targets uncovered by investigations into alleged terrorists Omar Al-Kutobi, 24, and Mohammad Kiad, 25.

The pair were arrested at their western Sydney home on Tuesday and charged with terrorism offences, just hours before they allegedly planned to carry out an attack.

Lawyers for the men flagged in court on Thursday that the pair would probably apply for bail next month.
