Four of the country's top five golfers will compete at the Australian PGA on the Gold Coast in early December after Olympians Marcus Fraser and Scott Hend were the latest players to commit to the event.

World No.6 Adam Scott and No.49 Marc Leishman have already confirmed they will play at Royal Pines Resort, while it will be Hend and Fraser's only appearance at home in Australia over the summer.

World No.1 Jason Day will be the only top Australian missing from the December 1-4 tournament as he struggles to overcome a back injury.

Fraser finished in a tie for fifth at the Rio Games, after leading at the end of the second round. Hend tied for 39th.

The tournament forms a part of the European tour, where world No.64 Hend and No.103 Fraser have each won this year.

"I feel like my game is in great shape and 2016 could be my best chance of winning one of the big tournaments on home soil," Hend said.

"I would love to win the Australian PGA Championship in front of a Queensland crowd; it would be a great end to my year."
