The Olympic Club in San Francisco will host the 2028 US PGA Championship and 2032 Ryder Cup.

The venue has an impressive championship heritage, having hosted 10 USGA events, including five US Opens but on Wednesday was chosen by the PGA of America to host one of its 'pillar' events for the first time.

"This is a special moment, to return the PGA Championship and the Ryder Cup to the West Coast," said PGA of America president Paul Levy.

President of the 157-year-old club, Dan Dillon, said its membership was elated to host "two more gems that add to the rich multi-sport history of America's oldest athletic club".
