Ombudsman for small business on the way

Small business will get a new champion through legislation that's been passed by the House of Representatives.

A bill setting up a small business and family enterprise ombudsman has been passed by the House of Representatives.

Small Business Minister Bruce Billson on Wednesday said the ombudsman would advocate for the sector and help with information and dispute resolution.

With Labor supporting it, the measure should have smooth progress through the Senate.
