O'Neill appointed Tigers football boss

Premiership-winning skipper Mark O'Neill has been appointed to the role of football manager at Wests Tigers.

Wests Tigers premiership-winning captain Mark O'Neill has been appointed as the NRL club's general manager of football.

O'Neill will step aside from his role with the NRL match review committee to take on the new job.

"Mark has been heavily involved in the game, both as a player and an administrator, for more than 20 years and we look forward to having that experience at the club," Wests Tigers boss Justin Pascoe said.

O'Neill, 40, played 223 matches for the Balmain Tigers and Wests Tigers including leading them to their only title win in 2005.
