ANZ Bank's China CEO says opening up his country's capital markets will create new trade opportunities with Australia.
The Chinese government has set a goal of up to 10 years to internationalise the renminbi, and it will become the main trade currency with Australia.
Dr Charles Li has been in Melbourne as a guest speaker at the Australia in China's Century conference.
He told Kristina Kukolja, he sees great opportunities for Australian individual investors and institutions in China.
