Optus scores $530m ANZ deal

Singapore Telecommunications subsidiary Optus has signed a $530 million agreement with ANZ to run its telecommunications for five more years.

Singapore Telecommunications (SingTel) subsidiary Optus has secured a $530 million contract to run ANZ's telecommunications services for another five years.

The deal with Optus Business includes ANZ's domestic and global data network services, contact centre services and services supporting the bank's business operations.

SingTel said the deal reinforced Optus Business' ability to deliver end-to-end managed telecommunications services across Australia and the Asia Pacific region.

"(The) announcement demonstrates the ability of SingTel and Optus Business to support our customers' growth ambitions not just locally, but globally," SingTel Group chief executive Chua Sock Koong said in a statement on Thursday.

ANZ chief executive Mike Smith said the deal represented the bank's largest managed services relationship.
