Orica-AIS score cycling win in Belgium

Swede Emma Johansson, the No.1 rider for Australian cycling team Orica-AIS, has posted their first European win of the season.

Orica-AIS team leader Emma Johansson has scored her first win of the year, with the Swedish cycling star taking out Le Samyn des Dames in Belgium.

It is also the first European win this season for the Australian team, which topped last year's international rankings.

Johansson won the bunch sprint at the end of the 111.6km race from Quaregnon to Dour ahead of South African Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (Hitec Products) and Belgian Sofie De Vuyst (Futurumshop.nl - Zannata).

She also finished second last Saturday at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, but Orica-AIS were disappointed with how they raced there.

"It means a lot to the team to win races this way," Johansson said.

"There was a big difference between today and the way we raced last weekend and it shows that when we race as a team, we can win.

"Just coming into today, everybody was more prepared and focused. I think that was really important for us."
