Origin Energy's newly installed chief executive Frank Calabria's overhaul of the group's leadership includes the removal of the position he previously held.
Mr Calabria was head of Origin's energy markets division before taking over as CEO in September, and says his changes remove a leadership layer from that business, which oversees power generation and gas and electricity retail.
A search is underway for a chief financial officer, with the role currently held by acting CFO Gary Mallett, and for the newly created position of corporate affairs' executive general manager.
These positions are expected to be filled by early 2017.
"The team reflects our need to deliver better operational performance today while preparing us for the future in a changing industry," Mr Calabria said in a statement.
"With six new members, this group will drive a new performance culture across the organisation."
In new roles, Jon Briskin is the executive general manager of Origin retail, Greg Jarvis is executive general manager of energy supply and operations and Tony Lucas is executive general manager of of future energy and business development.
David Baldwin remains as chief executive of integrated gas and Andrew Clarke remains group general counsel and company secretary.
Carl McCamish is executive general manager of technology and transformation and Sharon Ridgway is executive general manager of people and culture.
Mr Calabria replaced Grant King, who retired after the company's annual general meeting in October.
