Orora lifts profit 25.9%, targets growth

Orora, which demerged from packaging giant Amcor in December 2013, has reported a 25.9 per cent increase in net profit to $131.4 million.

Packaging company Orora has lifted full year profit 25.9 per cent, on a pro forma basis, and forecasts improved earnings.

The company, which demerged from packaging giant Amcor in December 2013, reported net profit of $131.4 million, up from last year's pro forma $104.4 million.

Earnings before interest and tax rose 17 per cent despite what chief executive Nigel Garrard said were subdued market conditions in North America and Australasia, with the company increasing market share.

Mr Garrard said 2015/16 earnings are expected to be higher.
