Out-of-control bushfire on Central Coast

The Pacific Highway north of Newcastle is closed in both directions as fire crews battle an out-of-control bushfire .

Rural firefighters are battling an out-of-control bushfire on the NSW Central Coast, which has closed the Pacific Highway in both directions.

Fire crews are at the blaze at Twelve Mile Creek near Medowie. At 2pm on Tuesday, the RFS had put the fire at a 'watch and act' alert level.

The Pacific Highway north of Newcastle is closed in both directions in the area as crews battle the blaze.
