Oxford thrash Cambridge 42-0 in rugby

Oxford's recent dominance of Cambridge in rugby continued with a 42-0 thrashing in the 35th edition of the Varsity Match in London.

Oxford handed out an eight-try thrashing to Cambridge in the 35th Varsity Rugby Match at the Honourable Artillery Company in the City of London to lead 18-16 in the series.

Centre Chris Mansfield touched down twice in the Dark Blues' 42-0 triumph, a record-breaking sixth successive victory, which is the longest winning sequence in this annual event since its inauguration in 1981.

The Light Blues have scored just one try in the past four years and rarely looked like adding to that tally in a largely one-sided affair on Friday.

Calum Lomas, Charlie Davies, Joni Dennis, Josh Marshall, Connor McCleary and man of the match Mark Giza scored Oxford's other tries, while James Clark kicked five goals.
