Oz trio five off the pace in Memorial

Australia's Marc Leishman, Steven Bowditch and Greg Chalmers have made a bright start at the US PGA Tour Memorial Tournament.

Australian golfers Marc Leishman, Steven Bowditch and Greg Chalmers are five shots off the pace after the opening round of the US PGA Tour Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Ohio.

The trio produced three-under-par rounds of 69 to be five behind defending champion Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and American Bo Van Pelt, who sit two clear at the top.

Jason Day, a member who lives locally, shot 72 to be eight back while five-time event winner Tiger Woods is nine off the pace after a 73.
