Pacers beat Nets, stay unbeaten in NBA

The Indiana Pacers have beaten the Brooklyn Nets 96-91 to make it seven straight wins to start the NBA season.

P - The Indiana Pacers stretched their NBA season-opening winning streak to a franchise-best 7-0 on Saturday with a 96-91 victory over the Brooklyn Nets.

Pacers forward Paul George led all scorers with 24 points as Indiana handed Brooklyn their first home defeat of the season.

David West added 18 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Roy Hibbert and Lance Stephenson finished with 15 points apiece for the Pacers.

The franchise's previous best start to a season was a 6-0 opening in 1970-71, when they were in the old American Basketball Association.

The Nets, too, had four players score in double figures.

Deron Williams had 17 points and 10 assists and Joe Johnson added 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting.

Brook Lopez chipped in 16 and Paul Pierce scored 15 for the Nets, who trimmed a 10-point Pacers lead to three with less than three minutes remaining.

In other games, Jeff Green hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to earn Boston a 111-110 victory over Miami for the Celtics' third straight win.

Gerald Wallace's pass found Green in the right corner, where he unleashed a shot over the outstretched hands of LeBron James. The shot was confirmed after a video review.

James led Miami with 25 points and 10 assists. Chris Bosh had 20 points and Dwyane Wade finished with 18.

Kyrie Irving scored a season-high 39 points and hit the winning lay-up with 0.6 seconds remaining in the second overtime to lift Cleveland over Philadelphia 127-125.

Blake Griffin and JJ Redick scored 22 points apiece and Los Angeles used an 18-0 run in the second half to rally for a 107-94 victory over Houston.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 14 rebounds, Wesley Matthews scored 21 points, and Portland beat Sacramento 96-85 to earn their fourth win in five games.

Tyler Hansbrough scored a season-high 23 points, DeMar DeRozan added 18 and Toronto snapped a seven-game home losing streak against Utah with a 115-91 thrashing.

Jeff Teague had 19 points and 13 assists and Paul Millsap scored 18 points with 11 rebounds to lead Atlanta past Orlando 104-94.

Monta Ellis got the best of his former team, shaking off boos from the crowd while contributing 18 points and five assists to help Dallas hold off Milwaukee 91-83.

Zach Randolph had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and six Memphis players reached double figures in a 108-90 rout of Golden State.
