Paediatricians say detention of asylum seeker children 'child abuse'

New research shows the majority of Australian paediatricians believe mandatory detention of asylum seeker children is child abuse.

New research shows the majority of Australian paediatricians believe mandatory detention of asylum seeker children is child abuse.

Research co-author, Professor David Isaacs is a paediatrician who runs a refugee clinic at Sydney's Westmead Children's Hospital.

He's told Sonja Heydeman while more education is needed, most paediatricians feel concerned about the current government policy of detention.
