Winger Patrick Osborne and lock Joe Wheeler have signed new Super Rugby deals to remain at Highlanders for 2016.
Fiji-born Osborne, who has also played for the Chiefs, says he weighed up options before agreeing a new contract.
"The lifestyle my family has down here and the rugby I have been playing, pretty much made up my mind that the Highlanders was the best option for me," the 27-year-old said.
Wheeler, who linked up with the Highlanders in 2011, says the move south had paid off with consistent performances.
"I really came down here to get some regular game time and sort of reignite my career again.
"I don't regret it for a minute. Since day one I have felt at home here - the environment and style of game we play all suits me perfectly."
