Pakistan have beaten South Africa by 27 runs for a consolation victory in the third and final T20 international at the SuperSport Park in Centurion.

The No.1-ranked side in the shortest format, who lost the series 2-1, batted first and put on 9-168 on Wednesday in their 20 overs.

However, they lost wickets at regular intervals and left-arm bowler Beuran Hendricks took a career-best 4-14 for the hosts.

Shadab Khan's late cameo with three sixes in the final over helped to boost the Pakistan total. He clubbed 22no from eight deliveries.

Mohammad Rizwan top-scored for the tourists with 26, followed by Asif Ali with 25 and Babar Azam who made 23.

South Africa were never really in the game and made 9-141.

Chris Morris impressed with a half-century (55no) for the Proteas, while Rassie van der Dussen hit 41 off 35 balls.
