Pakistan Cricket Board chief Zaka Ashraf resumed his duties on Thursday after a court reinstated him, vowing to continue his mission to boost the sport in the country.
"In accordance with the order of January 15th, 2014, passed by a learned Division Bench of the Honourable Islamabad High Court, Ashraf has assumed the office of chairman (of the) PCB," a press release from the board said.
The court released a detailed judgement on Thursday, eight months after he was suspended over alleged dubious elections.
"The decision came only because of a free and unbiased judiciary," said Ashraf, appointed by former president Asif Ali Zardari.
"I have no grudges against anyone and I will continue my mission to lift Pakistan cricket," he added.
After Ashraf's suspension, the Nawaz Sharif-led government appointed veteran journalist Najam Sethi as interim chairman. In October last year Sharif became the patron of the PCB.
Pakistani cricket has long been embroiled in controversies on and off the field, including a spot-fixing scandal in 2010 that resulted in bans for top players.
