Palmer says he's suing Queensland health minister

Defamation suits now appear to be flying all over the Queensland election campaign, with Palmer United Party leader Clive Palmer announcing he is suing the state's Health Minister for defamation.

Mr Palmer made the announcement on social media, tweeting: "I'm suing Lawrence Springborg for defamation for comments he made about me. Disgrace @LNPQLD ministers suing people like Alan Jones."
It is not clear what comments are forming the basis of the law suit.

The office of Laurence Springborg says they are "scratching their heads" as to what the PUP Leader is suing the Minister over.

Clive Palmer has been sought for comment.

The latest suit follows the action of the Premier Campbell Newman and Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney in suing Sydney based broadcaster Alan Jones over comments relating to plans for the expansion of the New Hope coal mine at Acland on the Darling Downs.

Lawrence Springborg is also preparing to sue Alan Jones for defamation as part of a wider action by the Queensland Liberal National Party.
