In the chilly evening, on the lawns of Parliament House in Canberra, Jacqui Lambie, Clive Palmer and the crew of channel 10's The Project program were setting up for a live TV segment.

Palmer was standing by to pour a bucket of ice over Lambie in the charity challenge.

There were other reporters gathered to watch, and they recorded the exchange when Palmer's mood turned upon seeing a second ice-bucket.

His actions make it seem he believed the second bucket was for him and he would be pranked live on air.

ABC reports Palmer stormed off the set, swearing as the channel 10 producer says: "Can I just explain?"

"Look, that's the last time I'm on The Project. Goodbye," Palmer says.

Palmer leaves knocking over the ice-bucket and wetting the producer.

The segment went ahead without Palmer, and the Project panellists asked a drenched Lambie if she thinks Palmer would participate in the challenge.

"I can't see him doing it today, no."

"I think if Eric Abetz do it and Michael Ronaldson get out there and do it, Clive Palmer will have no choice," she says.

"I want him to have the bucket thrown over him, I don't want him to kick the bucket."
