Rod Pampling will turn his attention to dominating the Australian summer having broken through for his first US PGA Tour victory in over a decade.
The Queenslander will come home $US1,188,000 ($A1.5 million) richer this week after taking out the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas on Sunday (Monday AEDT).
He plans on resting before preparing for the Australia Open later this month, then tackling the Australian PGA Championship on December 1-4.
"I land in Brisbane Thursday morning, so we'll have a few days at home," he told Sky Sports Radio on Tuesday.
"I think there'll be a few Bundies and a few wines down there to celebrate the win.
"Then we'll definitely get ready for the Aussie Open, then the PGA."
The 47-year-old has won neither tournament, finishing fourth in the Open last year but well out of the mix in the PGA.
But he showed he could still match it with golf's young hotshots when he fired a six-under-par 65 final round to win in Las Vegas, holing a 32-foot birdie putt on the last hole to put the result beyond doubt.
"I still knew I had the game and the desire," he said.
"It wasn't like I was out there just on the range hitting balls, chatting away, just having a social time.
"I was out there working hard to try and find out where the game had gone and get it back to where it needed to be."
As well as the prizemoney, the win earns Pampling starts in next year's Masters and PGA Championship and a precious two-year exemption on the US tour.
He had battled in recent years, alternating between the main tour and secondary web.com Tour.
"I've had three to four years of having to turn up and hoping I get in the field," he said.
"I actually get to pick and chose what I want to do now."
