PanAust worker injured amid security scare

PanAust has evacuated a worker from one of its mines in Laos after they were injured during a security scare.

A worker at one of PanAust's gold and coper mines in Laos has been wounded during a security scare.

The Brisbane-based miner says the worker was evacuated for treatment in Thailand after a security incident at an accommodation camp for its Phu Kham mine on Tuesday.

Police are investigating the incident and PanAust has suspended all mining, processing and maintenance operations at Phu Kham for 48 hours.

"The family of the injured employee has been contacted and are being kept updated and all necessary support is being provided," Pan Aust said in a statement on Wednesday.

PanAust shares were 3.25 cents lower at $1.9175 at 1042 AEST.
