Panthers prop Sam McKendry is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines after being hit with a shoulder charge citation by the NRL match review committee.

Penrith prop Sam McKendry faces up to three weeks on the sidelines after being hit with a shoulder charge citation by the NRL match review committee.

McKendry was hit with a grade one shoulder charge for a 78th minute challenge on Melbourne's Cameron Munster in the Storm's win at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Even with an early guilty plea McKendry will miss two NRL matches due to loading. If he fights the charge and loses he will sit out three games.
