PaperlinX announces new boss

PaperlinX has been quick to replace its sacked chief executive, with the announcement of Andy Preece as his replacement, effective immediately.

PaperlinX has been quick to replace its sacked chief executive Andrew Price, announcing the appointment of Andy Preece to the top job.

Mr Preece, formerly the paper products company's general manager for Australia, New Zealand and Asia, takes up the position on Tuesday.

Investors sent PaperlinX shares south on Tuesday, down 0.1 cent, or 5.26 per cent, to 1.8 cents as of 1120 AEDT.

PaperlinX last week announced Mr Price's immediate termination after just over a year in the job.

On Tuesday, PaperlinX chairman Robert Kaye said now was the time to change leadership as the company evaluates a recent strategic review, including an option to sell or restructure part of or all of its European operations.
