Paraglider injured in crash near Brisbane

A man has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after crashing his paraglider at Atkinson Dam, west of Brisbane.

A paraglider has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after suffering back injuries in a crash at Atkinson Dam.

The man, aged in his 30s, was treated by paramedics at the scene following the crash around 7am on Monday at the dam west of Brisbane..

"For some reason he's lost control and has ended up crashing to the ground from approximately 15 feet in the air," critical care paramedic Adrian Gielis said.

An off-duty paramedic was one of the first on the scene to help the man.

The paraglider is in a stable condition with lower back injuries in Princess Alexandra Hospital.
