Former Brisbane and Manly hooker Matt Parcell has scored a hat-trick to continue his stunning start his Super League career as Leeds moved up to third with a 40-0 rout of Warrington.

Parcell joined the Rhinos from the NRL in the off-season and has been the driving force behind Leeds' much-improved campaign.

But Leeds coach Brian McDermott insists the best is yet to come from the 24-year-old.

"He's been good for us since he came here despite not having a pre-season with us," McDermott said.

"There's still some improvement in him."

Wakefield came from behind to snatch a 28-26 victory over Huddersfield to maintain their push for a top-four spot.

The rejuvenated Giants were on track for a third win in four games when they led 26-22 with 10 minutes to go but Trinity winger Ben Jones-Bishop went over for his second try of the match.

His 14th try of the season locked up the scores and replacement halfback Sam Williams kicked the difficult conversion to clinch a fifth successive win.

It was survival of the fittest in stifling conditions at the Beaumont Legal Stadium and Wakefield finished the stronger to just about deserve the spoils, despite another impressive performance from Huddersfield's Australian fullback Jake Mamo.

Leigh ended their eight-game losing streak and added to Hull's woes with a 26-22 win at the KCOM Stadium.

It had been 12 years since Leigh's last visit to the KCOM for a Super League fixture which ended 76-20 to the Black and Whites.

Greg Eden continued his remarkable scoring record with a third-successive hat-trick as leaders Castleford came from behind to beat bottom side Widnes 32-22 at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle.

On his 100th career appearance, Super League's leading scorer took his overall tally for the season to 24 tries in just 16 appearances.

Salford kept the pressure on leaders Castleford with a hugely impressive 50-12 victory over Catalans Dragons on an emotionally charged night at the AJ Bell Stadium.

The Red Devils offered fans free admission in exchange for a donation to the fund set up to help victims of the Manchester bomb attack on Monday.
