Sung Hyun Park is world's No.1 again after she birdied the first hole of a playoff with Lizette Salas to win the LPGA's Indy Women in Tech Championship.
The two-time major champion from South Korea erased a two-shot deficit over the final four holes at Brickyard Crossing to claim her third tour victory of the season and fifth of her career.
Park closed with a four-under 68 to match Salas at 23-under 265 .
"I'm very honoured to be ranked No. 1 and I hope to maintain that ranking for a long time," she said through an interpreter. "I will try my best."
Salas (70) appeared to be in control until she made bogey on No.17 to fall into a tie with Park.
The American missed a short birdie putt on the final hole that would have given her first victory since 2014.
In the playoff, Salas slid a longer birdie putt just left of the hole.
Park then knocked her putt on No.18 into the centre of the cup.
Park was then whisked away to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway's finish line, where she celebrated by kissing the bricks and taking the traditional sip of milk - though she declined to take the milk bath as the event's inaugural winner, Lexi Thompson, did last year.
"I didn't expect that tradition, but I was pleased to do it," Park said.
South Korea's Amy Yang was third, a shot back at 22 under after a 69.
Australian LPGA rookie Hannah Green carded a Sunday 71 to round out her week at 13 under and tied for 28th while Katherine Kirk's 68 lifted her to 11 under and a share of 39th.
