Parliament House is packed to the rafters and authorities are on the hunt for some new office space nearby to spill over staff.

The building has an estimated 3000 workers and on parliamentary sitting days visitor numbers peak at 10,000.

A public tender has been put out to solve the looming space crisis, the Canberra Times reports.
