Parolee admits to Vic woman's murder

A man has pleaded guilty to the home invasion murder of a Victorian woman while he was on parole.

A man who was on parole has admitted murdering a Victorian woman in a home invasion while her four-year-old son was in the house.

Jason John Dinsley, 30, has pleaded guilty to the attempted rape and murder of Sharon Denise Siermans, 29, at her Ballarat home on April 6, as well as aggravated burglary.

Ms Siermans' four-year-old son was in the house when his mother was killed.

Dinsley was on parole at the time of the killing, after being jailed for the rape of a woman at St Kilda.

He briefly appeared in the Victorian Supreme Court in Melbourne on Friday, where he was arraigned on all three charges.

Dressed in a black suit, Dinsley showed no emotion as his charges were read out.

The case was adjourned until November.
