A teenager accused of aiding and abetting the fatal shooting of NSW police accountant Curtis Cheng will fight the charges, his lawyer says.
Raban Alou, 18, was held by police for more than a week after being arrested in pre-dawn raids over the shooting of Mr Cheng outside police headquarters in Parramatta two weeks ago.
Mr Cheng was gunned down by high school student, 15-year-old Farhad Jabar, who was himself shot and killed by police.
The 18-year-old from Wentworthville will remain in custody after he made no bid for bail at Central Local Court on Friday.
He also did not appear.
Speaking outside court Alou's lawyer, Moustafa Kheir said his client would be fighting the Commonwealth charge that he aided, abetted, counselled and procured the commission of a terrorist act.
"The evidence that the charges rely on are circumstantial evidence. This means there is no direct evidence," he told reporters.
"Raban will be fighting these charges."
"We ask that the legal process is respected and left for determination by the court according to the evidence and not speculation."
22-year-old remanded in custody
The man accused of supplying the gun that killed veteran NSW police accountant Curtis Cheng has been refused bail.
Talal Alameddine, 22, didn't appear before Parramatta Local Court on Friday to face allegations he provided the gun used by 15-year-old Farhad Jabar in the fatal shooting of Mr Cheng outside Parramatta police headquarters on October 2.
Alameddine's lawyer made no application for bail on his behalf, and he has been remanded in custody until December 10.
