Paul McCartney in trademark battle

Paul McCartney is embroiled in a battle to stop a company trademarking his nickname Macca for a cosmetics range.

The Beatles legend's legal team has filed an objection to a trademark application filed in London to use the name for a line of cosmetics, perfumes, hair products and soaps.

The applicant now has two months to defend the filing with the Trademark Registry in London, according to The Daily Mail newspaper.
