Olympic and Commonwealth hurdles champion Sally Pearson has earned a third place finish in the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham.

Pearson, who was disqualified from the Stockholm Diamond League event earlier in the week for false-starting, responded well and led early on Sunday before being run down by American duo Dawn Harper-Nelson, who finished first, and second place-getter Queen Harrison.

Harper-Nelson crossed the line in 12.66sec, a mere 0.4sec ahead of Harrison while Pearson stopped the clock at 12.85sec.

Meanwhile, Benn Harradine finished sixth in the men's discus with his best throw of 62.23m well short of world No.2 Robert Harting's winning effort of 67.57m, while Kathryn Mitchell finished sixth in the women's javelin and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Alana Boyd failed on all three attempts in the women's pole vault.
